Part Time Kennel Attendant
Kennel Attendants play an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for hospitalized and boarding pets. This entry‑level position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands‑on work, can work independently, and value teamwork in a veterinary setting. It is also perfect for students who want to explore or begin a career in the veterinary field.

Part Time Kennel Attendant

Work Schedule
- Monday–Thursday, typically 4:00 PM to 6:00–7:00 PM
- Alternating weekend kennel duties, averaging 6 hours per weekend
- Average weekly hours: 15–20, with slight fluctuation depending on weekend rotation
- Work is performed independently, under the direction of the Lead Technician, Manager, and Veterinarian
- Animal handling experience required
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs or more
- Comfortable working with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction.
- This position will include independent evening shifts after closing, during which the kennel attendant works alone in the clinic.
- Willingness to learn clinic protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Cleaning kennels, runs, and hospital wards
- Feeding, watering, and monitoring patients
- Assisting staff with safe animal handling
- Laundry, dishes, and general clinic sanitation
- Supporting the medical team as needed
This position includes routine janitorial and grounds‑keeping tasks, including but not limited to:
- Mopping, sweeping, and trash removal
- Window washing
- Picking up trash on hospital grounds
- Weed pulling
- Stocking non‑prescription items
- General kennel and facility cleaning
Team members who excel in this role may have the opportunity to train in other areas of the clinic, such as:
- Customer Service Representative (CSR)
- Veterinary Assistant
- Starting at Oregon minimum wage, with higher pay based on experience
